About KEA Boxing
KEA Boxing Promotions is happy to announce that going into its Tenth year. The 2014 schedule is looking better and more fight-packed than ever. Formed in 2004 by veteran pro boxing manager and current President Andre Kut, KEA's only goal is to provide fight fans with the best matchups and most exciting fights in the local area. Since its inaugural show in June of 2004, KEA has consistently impressed and entertained fans in the tri state are by showcasing both elite, world-class fighters, as well as promising local up-and-comers in elegant and intimate venues.
KEA Boxing Promotions began as KEA Boxing Management, Inc. and has been in existence since 1992, but with Kut's decision to transform KEA Boxing Management into a Promotions company, he decided to become increasingly proactive with his vision to bring thrilling and affordable event to fans practically in their backyards. In recent years KEA has exceeded all expectations as its garnered widespread notice and recognition. Therefore proving Kut's belief that if the fights are promoted, the fans will follow.
In the past, KEA shows have featured fighters such as the late Agapito Sanchez. Sanchez was the former Super Bantamweight Champion who fought to a draw with current Superstar Manny Pacquaio, and was on a winning streak in his quest to return to the top ranks before his life was cut short in his native Dominican Republic. Some other recognizable name fighters that have appeared on KEA shows are: Jameel McCline, Yusaf Mack, Alex Perez, Jason Gavern, Patrick Majewski, Chuck Mussachio, Jose Rodriguez, Bobby Rooney, and many more.
KEA has also been an integral part in the build up of many other world known boxers including former WBC Middleweight Champion Pawel Wolak, New Jersey's Wayne Johnson who was also on the hit TV series The Contender, undefeated prospect Juan "The Beast" Rodriguez, Jr, and former IBF champion Jose "Silver Boy" Rodriguez. One of Wolak's performances on a KEA show was fight-of-the-year candidate, a battle against Bayonne, New Jersey's own tough Dennis Sharpe. Fan favorite Wayne Johnson achieved many of his victories on KEA shows. Rodriguez, not only undefeated, also won the award for Philadelphia's Fight of the Year back in 2012. These local venues have allowed them to fight right in their backyard, rather than having to go on the road.
A former amateur fighter, then manager, matchmaker and trainer, Andre Kut has been deeply committed to expanding KEA Boxing Promotions throughout the East Coast. Having worked with fighters in almost every capacity throughout his career, Kut previously travelled the globe with KEA fighters, and subsequently decided to bring the shows home to the tri state area. KEA made one of its best matches yet when they moved their previous two events to Schuetzen Park, located in North Bergen, New Jersey - a perfect and intimate setting to display the exciting fights that KEA has come to represent.
KEA's mission is simple: "To provide new and old fans alike the opportunity to see World Class Boxers, Rising Prospects, and the Local Favorites, up close in a safe environment, without the inconvenience of those long drives, and at fair prices that give fans the most value for their money."
With a New Year's resolution to put on more shows than ever before, and to expand them further towards the west coast, KEA is poised to continue its steady stride of growth in 2014. Constantly searching for the best new talent as well as giving its established fighters the toughest competition possible to pave the road with as they rise through the ranks towards a championship bout, KEA will continue to move forward, and take the sport of Boxing with it!
